Oliver McGowan Tier 2 Mandatory Training

Meaningful, standardised learning disability and autism training for staff whose roles require Tier 2 capabilities.

Course overview

Better understanding, safer support and improved outcomes.

The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is the government’s preferred and recommended training package for health and social care staff. Tier 2 is designed for people who need a deeper level of capability because they provide care or support to autistic people and people with a learning disability.

The programme combines the national e-learning component with a one-day face-to-face session. Delivery is led by trained facilitators alongside co-trainers with lived experience, ensuring that autistic people and people with a learning disability remain at the heart of the learning.
